At InnoTrans 2018 in Berlin, DLR will be presenting the NGT (Next Generation Train) CARGO, a high-speed train for freight traffic of the future. The NGT CARGO is more than just a vehicle – behind it lies a whole mobility concept that represents the transport chain from sender to recipient. In addition, the researchers are also showing needs-based and intelligent maintenance of rail infrastructure, impact analyses of automated rail systems, and flexible testing systems for digital control and signalling technology. At InnoTrans 2018, DLR is thus presenting the whole spectrum of its current railway research and is showing how rail services of the future can become safer, more energy-efficient and more environmentally friendly.
